What does LiFi(Light Fidelity) Mean?
Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) is high-speed wireless communication technology which achieves data transmission through visible light communication(VLC). It transmits high-speed data using lights.
Li-Fi uses common household LED (light emitting diodes) light bulbs to enable data transfer.
Li-Fi speeds up to 224 gigabits per second. i.e 100 times faster than normal WiFi.
Wifi uses radio waves technology for data transmission. Li-Fi uses light for achieving the same. So any one can imagine the speed difference and accuracy. LiFi uses visible light between 400 THz (780 nm) and 800 THz (375 nm) for data transmission.
Li-Fi enables devices to use their inbuilt stand by LED lights to transmit data.
Disadvantage of traditional Wi-Fi
The disadvantage of traditional Wi-Fi routers is that multiple devices in a space can interfere with each other.
Li-Fi, however, can use multiple lights in a room without interference.

To serve this high demand and size of wireless communication the German scientist(Physics) Harald Haas proposed Li–Fi technology which he mentioning Data through illumination / D-Light.
