Temporarily Disable Mcafee virus protection

    1. Disable Buffer Overflow Protection:
      1. Open the VirusScan console.
      2. Double-click Buffer Overflow Protection.
      3. Deselect Enable Buffer Overflow Protection.
      4. Click OK and close the VirusScan console.
      5. Try to recreate your issue.
    2. Disable Access Protection:
      1. Open the VirusScan console.
      2. Double-click Access Protection.
      3. Deselect Enable Access Protection.
      4. Click OK and close the VirusScan console.
      5. Try to recreate your issue.
    3. Disable On-Access Scanner:
      1. Open the VirusScan console.
      2. Right-click On-Access Scanner and select Disable.
      3. Try to recreate your issue.
  1. Disable ScriptScan:
    1. Open the VirusScan console.
    2. Right-click On-Access Scanner and select Properties.
    3. Select the ScriptScan tab.
    4. Deselect Enable scanning of scripts.
    5. Try to recreate your issue.
  2. Stop the McShield service:
    1. Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and press ENTER.
    2. Locate and double-click the McAfee McShield service.
    3. Click Stop to terminate the service and click OK.
    4. Try to recreate your issue.
  3. Stop the McAfee Task Manager service:
    1. Click Start, Run, type services.msc and press ENTER.
    2. Locate and double-click the McAfee Task Manager service.
    3. Click Stop to terminate the service, and then click OK.
    4. Try to recreate your issue.
  4. Stop the McAfee Framework service:
    1. Click Start, Run, type services.msc and click OK.
    2. Right-click on McAfee Framework Service and select Stop.
    3. Try to recreate your issue.

Workaround

If you see the issue only when you start your computer, disable McShield on startup to exclude the McShield filter driver from the causes:
  1. Click Start, Run, type services.msc and press ENTER.
  2. Locate and double-click the McAfee McShield service.
  3. For Startup type select Disabled and click OK.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Try to recreate your issue.
