The PHPMYADMIN login error “Login without a password is forbidden by configuration (see AllowNoPassword)”. This is happening because of the phpMyAdmin default configuration.
PHPMyAdmin is a tool for manage MySQL in Web. It has a login interface to create and modify databases. Most people run phpMyAdmin without password for local development to avoid the time waste to remember and enter a password. Sometimes at the time of installation will face the error like below.
Why this phpMyadmin login error?
When you check the xampp configuration file, you can see an entry like below
If you install xampp in C drive then the path to the configuration file is C:\xampp\phpMyAdmin\Config.inc.php
This setting is pushing the user to enter a password to login in PHPMyAdmin.
$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘AllowNoPassword’] = FALSE;
or can see a commented line of //$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘AllowNoPassword’] = TRUE;
How to solve this issue?
We can solve the issue in two ways
Go to the PHPMyAdmin configuration file
Uncomment the line $cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘AllowNoPassword’] = TRUE;
or edit the above configuration entry FALSE and make it as TRUE.
$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘AllowNoPassword’] = TRUE;
