- Disable Buffer Overflow Protection:
- Open the VirusScan console.
- Double-click Buffer Overflow Protection.
- Deselect Enable Buffer Overflow Protection.
- Click OK and close the VirusScan console.
- Try to recreate your issue.
- Disable Access Protection:
- Open the VirusScan console.
- Double-click Access Protection.
- Deselect Enable Access Protection.
- Click OK and close the VirusScan console.
- Try to recreate your issue.
- Disable On-Access Scanner:
- Open the VirusScan console.
- Right-click On-Access Scanner and select Disable.
- Try to recreate your issue.
- Disable ScriptScan:
- Open the VirusScan console.
- Right-click On-Access Scanner and select Properties.
- Select the ScriptScan tab.
- Deselect Enable scanning of scripts.
- Try to recreate your issue.
- Stop the McShield service:
- Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and press ENTER.
- Locate and double-click the McAfee McShield service.
- Click Stop to terminate the service and click OK.
- Try to recreate your issue.
- Stop the McAfee Task Manager service:
- Click Start, Run, type services.msc and press ENTER.
- Locate and double-click the McAfee Task Manager service.
- Click Stop to terminate the service, and then click OK.
- Try to recreate your issue.
- Stop the McAfee Framework service:
- Click Start, Run, type services.msc and click OK.
- Right-click on McAfee Framework Service and select Stop.
- Try to recreate your issue.
Workaround
If you see the issue only when you start your computer, disable McShield on startup to exclude the McShield filter driver from the causes:
- Click Start, Run, type services.msc and press ENTER.
- Locate and double-click the McAfee McShield service.
- For Startup type select Disabled and click OK.
- Restart your computer.
- Try to recreate your issue.
